Amerval Communal Cemetery Extension was made after the 51st Brigade (17th Division) had captured Amerval on the 20th October, 1918; and it was enlarged after the Armistice by the concentration of 61 graves from CONTOUR BRITISH CEMETERY, SOLESMES.

There are now over 150, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, a small number are unidentified. The cemetery covers an area of 308 square metres and is enclosed by a stone rubble wall.
