Aarschot Raskin Monument

Father Jozef Raskin was the chaplain of King Leopold II and resistance fighter from the very beginning. On October 18, 1943, he was beheaded by the Germans in Dortmund.

Sculptor Tony Blickx records the moment when this resistance hero, his hands tied behind his back, took the floor at the Nazi Volksgerichtshof and said: "im Gewissen und vor Gott habe Ich meine Pflicht getan".
