There are several veteran graves in this cemetery and also a Monument to honour the fallen from the First and the Second Word War, there is also one grave of a Korea soldier.

In Burcht op de begraafplaats heb ik toevallig het graf gevonden van een Belgische soldaat die in Korea heeft gevochten en daar is gesneuveld.  De concessie van dit graf was verlopen en het stond op het punt om geruimd te worden.  Ik heb direct de gemeente Zwijndrecht gecontacteerd, de termijn om de concessie te verlengen was al voorbij maar dit kon toch nog in laatste instantie aangepast worden, dat heb ik dan ook direct gedaan en de concessie persoonlijk overgenomen en zo blijft het graf van een Korea strijder toch nog behouden.

In Burcht at the cemetery I happened to find the grave of a Belgian soldier who fought in Korea and died there. The concession of this grave had expired and it was about to be cleared. I immediately contacted the municipality of Zwijndrecht, the period to extend the concession had already passed, but this could still be adjusted as a last resort, so I did immediately and I took over the concession personally and so the grave of a Korean fighter is still preserved.

Soldaat STAES August Frans, Belgisch Vrijwilligerscorps Korea.  Geboren in Burcht op 27 juni 1924 en gesneuveld op 29 augustus 1952, op 28 jarige leeftijd, in Chokko – Ri, Korea.  Eerst begraven in Pusan en later naar België overgebracht.

Private STAES August Frans, Belgian Volunteer Corps Korea. Born in Burcht on June 27, 1924 and killed in action on August 29, 1952, at the age of 28, in Chokko – Ri, Korea. First buried in Pusan and later transferred to Belgium.

Hendrik Theodoor VAN DAMME, geboren op 15 december 1919 in Elversele (Burcht). Hij was soldaat Mil 1939, 6^e Linie, stamnummer: 106/6183 en gesneuveld op 21 mei 1940 op 20 jarige leeftijd te Melle tijdens de Achtiendaagse veldtocht.

Hendrik Theodoor VAN DAMME, born December 15, 1919 in Elversele (Burcht). He was a soldier Mil 1939, 6th Linie, registration number: 106/6183 and was killed May 21, 1940 at the age of 20 in Melle during the Eighteen Days Campaign.
