Cemetery Schandelah/Scheppau 

Scheppau cemetery contains a plot with 97 graves of victims of Schandelah camp. After the war, the victims were found in mass graves. Those who were not repatriated were buried on this plot.

 

Memorial Site Camp Schandelah-Wohld

Camp Schandelah was a satellite camp of Neuengamme concentration camp and existed from 8 May 1944 to 12 April 1945. The camp was part of a group of seven camps of which the inmates had to work in mines for the production of synthetic fuel. There were about 15,000 inmates in the camps. Of them, 3500-4000 died. In Schandelah camp, about 200 inmates died.
