Musée Franco-Australien - Villers-Bretonneux

The flourishing city is in ruins, and to rebuild it, Australians and French help each other in a movement of international solidarity which is reflected in the reconstruction of his school. From then on, the bonds uniting the Bretonvillois to the people of Australia continue to develop until today.

The museum presents this unpublished story of war, memory and future through the richness of the collection of the Franco-Australian association made mainly of donations.

The museum tour allows us to understand the construction of this Franco-Australian memory, by means of 4 sequences (memory of the place, place of memory - memories of war - memory of the men - memories of a city) illustrated by personal objects of soldiers (uniforms, letters, photographs) but also by moving testimonies of this Franco-Australian friendship.
