Jonkerbos War Cemetery, The Netherlands - Rededication Ceremony

On Thursday 14 November 2019 a rededication service was held for Polish Airman, Plutonowy (Sergeant) Walenty Sieczka, at Jonkerbos War Cemetery.

 

Plutonowy Walenty Sieczka was lost in action on 19 June 1941, serving with 300 Sqdn of the Polish Air Force. He was originally buried at Ameland Cemetery but was then concentrated to Jonkerbos War Cemetery as an unknown Polish Airman.

 

Following extensive research this unknown grave has now been confirmed as being the grave of Plutonowy Sieczka. Grave 7.J.3.

Buried between two of his crew:
Bankowski P.R. washed ashore on 19.6.1941 and he was buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery of Nes. Row 1 Grave 7. Later on he was exhumed and transferred for unknown reasons to the British War Cemetery "Jonkerbos" at Nijmegen.

Domański J. washed ashore on 2.7.1941 and he has been buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery of Nes. Later on he was exhumed and transferred to the British War Cemetery "Jonkerbos" at Nijmegen.
