The cemetery is on the eastern outskirts of the village and contains 5 Commonwealth war graves of the Second World War.  The war graves are in the south-eastern corner, they were all killed on 10th August 1942.

Took off at 00:10 hrs 10 Aug 1942 from RAF Breighton for an operation to Osnabrück in Germany.

The aircraft was shot down by the night fighter crew of Oberleutnant Reinhold Knacke & Unteroffizier Kurt Bundrock of the 1./NJG 1, who were flying a Bf 110 F-4 from Venlo airfield.
