Anderlecht Monuments

On the side facade of the Cercle Des Régates de Bruxelles there are three memorials relating to the two world wars.

  • Memorial plaque for the members of the Cercle Des Régates who died during the First World War.

  • Memorial plaque in memory of Jacques STORCK

 

Jacques Storck, “Jaguar” in the resistance, born September 7, 1921 in Sint-Joost-ten-Noode is a resistance fighter from the Second World War 1 who mainly worked within the network The Three Musketeers Intelligence and Action Service in the Group of “Porthos” (Commander Eglem)

Executed by the German occupiers on March 15, 1943.at the age of 21.

The memorial plaque on the facade of the municipal school in Anderlecht commemorates two teachers who died during the First World War.

ELIAS François, soldier 3rd Line Regiment, died on 2 May 1915 in Steenstrate and VERKOYEN Sylvain, soldier 2nd Regiment Karabiniers, died on 6 January 1918 in the Belgian Military Hospital in Villers-le-Sec, Calvados, Normandy (France).
