Historical Information (Source: Volksbund)

The German military cemetery of Veslud is a military cemetery of the First World War, located on the territory of the municipality of Veslud in the department of Aisne, in France.

The cemetery was created by the Germans, after the French offensive of April 16, 1917 on the Chemin des Dames and is accessed by a staircase located at the bottom of the communal cemetery. It brings together 1,704 bodies resting in individual graves materialized by stone crosses (including 6 unidentified). The Germans entrusted its realization to one of their officers who used dynamite to make the stairs and the terraces.

The imposing war memorial dedicated to the "brave heroes" of the 50th Infantry Division was erected according to the plans of the architect Scholzen. The cemetery was listed as a historical monument in 1999.
