Today, Friday 29th March 2024, a “Stumbling Stone” was placed in Deurne Mortselsesteenweg 11, for Lode Sel.

This was the address where Lode lived when he was arrested exactly on his 17th birthday and was eventually taken as a Night and Nebel prisoner to various prison camps in Germany and Austria. He died 80 years ago today on March 29, 1944 from the hardships he endured in Karlsruhe, while being transported to the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp.
