THIEMAN Hubert, Breendonk 11 April 1944, one of the 24 Partizans that were killed in Fort Breendonk on 11 April 1944.

Hubert Thieman, born in 1919 in Vucht, volunteers for the war in the Belgian army. In February 1941 he found work on the surface of the Eisden mine as a stoker in the power station. In January 1943 he was conscripted into the partisans. He carries out sabotage and helps organize an escape line for pilots. After a shooting, he goes into hiding with the widow Beliën in Heusden. There he was seriously injured during a raid on January 15, 1944. He is transferred to Breendonk and the German martial law convicts him for his role in five murders (two of which targeted gendarmes), several robberies and murder attempts. On April 11, 1944, he was allegedly executed while sitting on a chair.
