Fromelles, France - 107th Remembrance of the Battle of Fromelles July 2023

On the 19th of July 2023 a ceremony was held for the 107th remembrance of the Battle of Fromelles in Pheasant Wood Cemetery.

II. E. 11. Sergeant Oscar Eric BAUMANN - 10 - 32nd Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Died 20 July 1916

Son of Mr. C. H. and Mrs. M. L. Baumann. Native of Ambleside, South Australia.

Born in Hahndorf, SA, he worked as a joiner when he enlisted in Adelaide, SA

 

IV. D. 11. Private Maurice James CLAXTON - 1239 - 32nd Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Died 20 July 1916

Born in St. Arnaud, Victoria, he worked as a teamster when he enlisted in Blackboy Hill, WA, in July 1915

 

II. F. 15. Private Walter Allen GRACE - 1537 - 31st Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Died 20 July 1916

Died 20 July 1916  Age 20

Son of Walter Henry and Ada Ruth Gray, of Crystal Brook, South Australia.

III. C. 1. Private Richard James McGUARR - 3873 - 55th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Died 20 July 1916 Age 27

Son of Richard and Elizabeth McGuarr. Native of Sydney, New South Wales.

Born in Lismore, NSW, he worked as a dairy farmer when he enlisted in Holsworthy, NSW, in October 1915

 

IV. D. 3. Private Alexander Russell Robert PAGE - 1082

32nd Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Died 20 July 1916 Age 27

Born in London, England, he worked as a milk carter when he enlisted in Perth, WA, in July 1915

 

II. E. 5. Corporal William John STEPHEN - 2772 - 55th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Son of Daniel and Mary Stephen, of "Zilka," Selbourne St., Burwood, New South Wales. Native of Balmain.
