Saint Charles de Potyze, Belgium -Remembrance Service

On Wednesday March 6, 2019 a Remembrance Ceremony was held for Private 2nd Class Louis HÉBRARD of the 153rd Infantry Regiment, died March 6, 1915.

 

This ceremony is organized by the VIFF (Friends of the In Flanders Fields Museum), and is part of the European project MEMORY (Make European Memory Our Responability towards Youth) with a delegation from the city of Dunkerque (CEFIR, House of Europe and the Urban Community of Dunkerque) and the cities of Rostock and Gdansk which visit Ypres, City of Peace. In order to familiarize young people with the practice of commemoration what has become the goal of VIFF-Remembrance over the years.

 

Private Louis HÉBRARD was chosen from the 415 dead on a list of the dead of the day of March 6, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 25. At the 153rd IR, 8 soldiers lost their lives on March 6 , and Louis is the only buried in the only French military cemetery in the city of Ypres. His tomb is No. 429.

 

Louis HÉBRARD of the 1914 class, registration number 11609, No. 672 to the recruitment of Béziers death of war wounds in Zannebecke (Zonnebeke) March 6, 1915, born on May 1, 1894 in NISSAN (Hérault).
