Dear Danielle Thanks so much

Thanks so much for photographing Gilbert McFadyen's name memorial wall on the Tyne Cot memorial! I feel you have helped enormously to have this man remembered in the 21st Century. I thank you for all the help you have provided to many people who you have photographed. I have always wanted to visit Belgium and when Covid is under control I will do so. Thanks for representing Belgium!

Beste Danielle,
Heel mooi initiatief. Heel mooie foto's.

Hi Danielle
Came across your entry in the Blighty Valley Cemetery so looked you up.  What amazing things you do to help others.

My partners grand father served in WW1 somewhere in The Somme, unfortunately wedon’t know much about his story. He was one of the so called lucky ones as he survived and was a POW for a while.

We are visiting cemeteries and memorials in honour of all the people that died in awfulness of WW1.
Very humbling and moving

Ryan Peers - USA

Private Samuel Peers, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), Schoonselhof Cemetery, Belgium

I recently discovered that my great great grandfather died serving in the Great War. While I am an American, my father is British and so is his father after him. I have never have been able to afford to travel outside of the United States. It would mean a lot to me if you could photograph my great great grandfather’s gravesite. The only information that I am positive about is that he died in 1918 serving in France and Flanders.

Thank you so much!

John White

Thank you for visiting the War Grave at Paradis Lestrem my uncle was a young man 17 / 18 at the time when caught in the massacre. I'm 72 and have visited a few times, I noticed in the visitors book that my other uncle his brother (his name is also John White) visited last year. We're all getting older and it would be nice to know that someone still visits and name and events are not forgotten.

Many thanks

Nick Sheridan - GB

Hi Danielle, just wanted to send you a huge thank you for spending your time to find and take photos of my great grandfather's gravestone, Nicholas Joseph Sheridan (Bethune Town Cemetery), I can't tell you how much I appreciate it :)

I have some photos of my granddad but nothing to relate to my great Granddad Nicholas, so these photos are the first & only tangible connection I'll probably ever have with him.  In a weird way it instantly makes me feel so much closer to him.

Again, thank you so so much for this.  I think what you do is an incredible selfless act of kindness and it makes me feel so happy there are good people like yourself out there in the world.

Warmest regards,

Nick Sheridan.

John Edward Tilley on Thiepval Memorial

Thank you so much Danielle, for photographing John's name for me on the Thiepval Memorial. I only recently found out he is remembered there and what he and his army unit went through during the battle of the Somme in 1916. Funnily enough, I visited Thiepval in 2012 but I didn't know my family history at that time. I remember looking up at all the names and wondering what had happened to them all. So there you go, now I'll have to visit again one day and see John's name for myself. My quest goes on, I'm trying to find a picture of him now ... who knows if that'll happen or not. Once again, many thanks to you for the volunteer work you do, you are a true angel. X

Kind regards
