Maucourt French National Cemetery

The military cemetery is located north of the village, it has an area of 1.75 ha. It was built in 1920 and contains 5,272 remains, 1,534 of which are located in six ossuaries.  There are also the graves of twenty-four French people killed in World War II during the 1940 French Campaign.

In the south-western corner are the graves of six airman who fell during the 1939-1945 War. Five of them belonged to the Royal Air Force and one to the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Took off 2042 16 April 1943 from RAF Snaith. Shot down by night fighter pilot Hauptmann Hans-Karl Kamp of the 7./NJG 4, flying a Bf 110 from Juvincourt airfield.  Target Plzeň (Pilsen), Czech Republic
