Pointe du Hoc Federal Monument
After 80 years, the terrain is still a lunar landscape, riddled with deep craters. Among these craters, caused by Allied bombardments, lie ruined sections of German bunkers. Some of these bunkers are still standing, either partially or completely. A memorial and museum have been established there, dedicated to the bloody battle that took place there. The Pointe du Hoc Federal Monument, shaped like a needle, was built on the gunnery control post. The monument is fully accessible to visitors. Visitors can visit the bunker on the point for a view of the sea in front of Pointe du Hoc. The monument stands on the roof.
