The village of Le Quesnel, which had been for some time in British hands, was captured by German forces on the 27th March, 1918, but was retaken on the following 9th August, by the 75th Canadian Infantry Battalion.
There is also a large plot of French war graves.

Captain William Henry Davis enlisted 6 March 1916 into the 138th (Edmonton) Battalion. William was a “Clerk in Holy Orders” with the Church of England at the time of his attestation. He became one of 14 serving clergymen in the 4th CMR. Appointed Honorary rank of Captain, 17 April 1916.
