Saturday 11^th April 2026 a stolperstein was placed for Jozef Willemsens at the Mechelbaan 423 in Putte.

Jozef Willemsens, born on December 23, 1919, in Beerzel, was a resistance fighter of the Independence Front. He was arrested in Putte on November 2, 1943, and deported under the Nacht und Nebel Decree. After the war, he served as municipal secretary of Putte for many years and remained permanently dedicated to the municipality.
